Welcome to Island Ray, where our journey began in the midst of the pandemic. Witnessing the dedication and sacrifice of frontline workers in our East Flatbush community, our founder, Marlon, felt compelled to shine a light on their efforts, which seemed to go unnoticed.
In response to this disparity, Marlon's wife and partner, Lenna, initiated a Go Fund Me campaign to ensure that the frontline heroes in our neighborhood received the recognition they deserved. Thanks to the generosity of numerous donors, they successfully provided meals to local hospitals and police stations, sparking the inception of Island Ray.
Meet Marlon, a self-taught chef who discovered his culinary passion at the tender age of ten, learning from his mother. Armed with generations of family recipes, Marlon crafts a menu that not only tantalizes the taste buds but also evokes cherished childhood memories.
